Building a Home for the Future
When it comes to buying a new construction home, the process can sometimes be intimidating. Our team at Riverside Homebuilders has always made it a priority to give our customers the peace of mind they deserve even when unanticipated outside factors come into play—especially with the last two years sometimes bringing unprecedented changes to the industry.
Benson Agbortogo and his wife had been planning on making the move to a new construction home for a while. After listening to advice from their friends and family, they finally came across one builder they wanted to know more about.
“I give the credit to my wife,” Benson explains. “She was doing some research and found Riverside.”
After looking into the Riverside team a little bit more, the couple then brought up the idea with their realtor who reassured them that Riverside had a great reputation as a builder throughout the area. Soon after that—they set up their first meeting at Riverside’s Northstar community in Haslet, Texas.
“We made an appointment with Dominic. I think we got there when there wasn’t a single house built [yet in the community],” Benson said. “We had a good conversation with Dominic. He was very helpful, and he gave us the information we needed—gave us the confidence and good feeling that we needed with a good company.”
When deciding on the perfect floor plan for any family—many things come into play. Benson explained that whenever his family is invested in something, they believe in fully thinking through every option in order to make the best long term decision. Having enough space to accommodate any family and guests they had over at their home was a huge priority for the Agbortogo family. They knew they needed at least a 5 bedroom home, and when they found the San Jacinto III floor plan—everything seemed to fall into place.
“We looked at the size of our family and we looked at the San Jacinto III, and it just made perfect sense,” Benson said. “I’m a businessman. I have an office where I work, but occasionally, I work from home—so having a home office as well was a big plus. Everything we wanted was just checked off.”
Building a new home came with its setbacks throughout 2021 with shortages in materials making the construction process longer than originally planned. Benson explained that the open communication and honesty they received from the team at Riverside helped set them at ease through every twist and turn they encountered throughout the build.
“Riverside didn’t charge us additional fees for the increased prices in materials,” Benson explained. “They honored their contract. It was very good to have that peace of mind that you’re working with a company that keeps its word.”
Once they closed on the home on December 3rd, 2021 and officially moved in on December 19th—Benson said that the Riverside team was still available to answer any questions the family had or address any touch-ups they needed to make to the home.
“There were some immediate things that we wanted taken care of, and they were taken care of right away, so we are pretty grateful,” Benson said. “Everybody we’ve worked with closely at Riverside has been very friendly.”

Hear From Our
Happy Homeowners
I would like to express my gratitude to Finnye Shipley and Jimmy Logan for their service during my homebuying experience. I am a first time homebuyer and they took great care of us. Their responsiveness and attention to detail is unmatched. They have continued to go above and beyond making us feel part of the community. They have been very helpful in some of the items needing attention after moving in. From the time that Jimmy showed us the house, I knew where we would be spending the next several years. I see Jimmy work late driving the neighborhood almost every day even there are only a handful of homes still for sale in the neighborhood.
I did not score a perfect scorecard on the survey, only because there were a few things that I am working on resolving with the home build. Sergio with the warranty department has been instrumental in fixing things that were needed.
Overall I am greatly satisfied with purchasing a Riverside home and look forward to working with you in the future. I hope this email will serve as a gold-star reflection of Finnye, Jimmy and Sergio. Their dedicated service should not go unnoticed.
