From mortgage beginnings to riverside success

Stephanie’s journey to Riverside Homebuilders is one of growth and determination. “I began my career in the mortgage business with a Dallas-based mortgage company, Southwest Funding, back in 2000,” she shares. Starting as a processor, Stephanie honed her expertise in loan processing and closing. Over the years, her career path included roles at Wells Fargo and LongTide Properties, where she deepened her understanding of the homebuying process.

By 2012, Stephanie found her place at Riverside Homebuilders. “As we became one of the new homebuilders in the metroplex, I transitioned into the role of Loan Coordinator,” she recalls. Her dedication and skill set propelled her into her current position as Closing Department Manager, where she now directs and manages Riverside’s closing department with pride.

The role of Closing Department Manager

As Closing Department Manager, Stephanie’s primary responsibility is ensuring smooth and timely closings for Riverside’s homebuyers. This is no small feat—as she oversees a pipeline of 40-60 or more closings each month.

“My duties are to manage, maintain and coordinate my pipeline of closings each month and to make sure they close on time,” she explains. Her day-to-day life is a whirlwind of activity. “It can be very chaotic,” Stephanie laughs. “My goal every day is to make sure all our homes are on track and close on time.”

Stephanie’s work involves constant communication with lenders, builders, realtors, title companies and homebuyers. She monitors construction updates, addresses potential issues and ensures that everything stays on schedule—all crucial parts of our superior homebuyer experience. “There are so many moving parts to get to the closing table,” she says. “But let me just say, I have an amazing team, and I would not be able to do what I do without them.”

Rising to challenges and celebrating wins

With such a demanding role, challenges are part of the territory. “The biggest challenge is managing my pipeline of closings and making sure they all close on time,” Stephanie notes. Staying organized and maintaining clear communication are key to her success. Despite the pressure, Stephanie thrives on the energy of her work and finds immense satisfaction in seeing it all come together.

One of her proudest moments at Riverside was when the company made the Top 100 Builders list. “That was a wonderful day and so exciting to be a part of,” she says. “To have started with LongTide, gone through the growing pains, and see the hard work and efforts we overcame to make the Top 100 Builders list—it was awesome!”

More than a job

For Stephanie, Riverside is more than just a workplace—it’s a family. “The long-lasting friendships I’ve made here over the last 15 years are what I treasure most,” she says. “We are family! But my favorite part is when a homeowner closes on their home, and we release the keys. The process can be very stressful, but when you get to the finish line, the smile on the new homeowner’s face is all that matters!”

Life beyond Riverside

When Stephanie isn’t managing closings, she’s busy enjoying life with her family. “My family is my world,” she says with pride. As a mother and “Gammy” to three grandsons—Connor (8), Jameson (5) and Patrick (almost 2)—Stephanie treasures her time with them. “Playing with my grandsons or hanging out by the pool is the best!”

She’s also an avid traveler, with a particular passion for cruises. “My family says I’m addicted,” she laughs. “If I could, I’d retire on a cruise ship!”
