I Am Riverside—Chris Bane’s Commitment to Craftsmanship
At Riverside Homebuilders, our success is built on the dedication, expertise and passion of our team members, and one individual who embodies these qualities in particular is Chris Bane. Chris is one of our Professional Builders whose journey in construction spans decades and reflects his unwavering commitment to quality and craftsmanship, and we are incredibly proud to have him on our team.
His path to Riverside Homebuilders
Chris’s path to Riverside Homebuilders is a testament to perseverance and adaptability. He began his construction career in 1997 as a commercial electrician, diligently working toward earning his Journeyman Electrical license. However, when the market experienced a downturn in 2002, Chris saw an opportunity to pivot to residential home construction, a move that would shape the trajectory of his career.
The economic challenges of 2008 temporarily steered Chris back to his electrical roots, working for the City of Weatherford’s water department and earning his Master Electrician license. His passion for homebuilding brought him to Riverside Homebuilders in 2014, though—a decision that has allowed him to leave his mark on countless homes across the Greater DFW area.
Building connections in his work
For Chris, the most fulfilling aspect of his role is the connection he forms with the homeowners. “When I see our happy homeowners around town and they tell me how much they are loving their new home, it’s an incredible feeling,” he shares. This dedication to homeowner satisfaction is evident in his daily work. Each day is different, filled with walking homes, checking the progress of trades, ensuring quality and addressing any issues that arise.
When asked what sets Riverside Homebuilders apart from others in the area, Chris emphasizes the company’s family-oriented environment and its unwavering dedication to delivering quality-built homes. This sense of camaraderie extends their success throughout the Greater DFW area, and Chris credits this to the “well-oiled machine” of skilled team members who collaborate seamlessly to resolve any issues that arise.
Building a home requires an incredible amount of intricate coordination—from managing skilled trades to navigating potential delays and maintaining clear communication throughout the process. For Chris, this focus on communication has been a cornerstone of his success. He believes it’s the most important skill for a builder and credits Riverside Homebuilders for creating an environment that has allowed him to grow both personally and professionally.
For anyone considering a career in construction or homebuilding, Chris offers this advice: “Don’t ever think any job or chore you’re asked to do is beneath you. Learn all you can and never think you know it all. Listen to and soak in the advice from the people who have been successful at that job, and take what you’ve learned and then make it your own.”
Looking forward to the future
Being recognized by Burgess and winning their Home Run Award and the Burgess MVP Trophy for being the top overall builder in the DFW Metroplex is a source of great pride for Chris. “It’s a great honor and just goes to show that our drive for quality for our homeowners is a top priority,” he says. The Home Run Award and Burgess MVP Trophy are a part of Burgess’ innovative Home Run Program, the only quality assurance and quality control initiative designed to reward field personnel for excellence in home quality. In order to be awarded this, builders need to meet both the Burgess Pre-Drywall and Final Inspection on the first attempt with zero defects, and with Chris’s leadership, his team consistently achieves this standard.
Chris’s love for his work shines in everything he does. “I’m very thankful to Riverside for being a place where I can say I’m proud to be a part of,” he says. And we’re proud to have him as an integral part of our team.
