Exploring Sanger
Originally founded as a stop along the Santa Fe Railroad, Sanger established itself early as a livestock town with cattle trails leading north and expansive prairies of waving wheat. These are still trademark features of Sanger’s economy and a foundation for 4-H.
Sanger Meadows is located just a few minutes from Ray Roberts Lake State Park where residents boat, fish, and camp through the seasons. The 29,000-acre Ray Roberts Lake is the main attraction with largemouth bass, crappie, white bass, and catfish accessible by boat ramps or a fishing pier.
Back on land, the 20-mile Greenbelt Corridor runs from the Ray Roberts Dam to Lake Lewisville with trails for hiking and biking or horseback riding. Adventurers will also enjoy the avid geocaching community that adds a little extra motivation as you explore the trails.
The City of Sanger Parks Department also operates a sports complex and Senior Center in addition to hosting events throughout the year like an Easter Egg Hunt, Sanger Trash Off, and the Christmas Parade.

“Just wanted to let you all know that the lending team referred to us by Kevin in Oak Ridge did a phenomenal job throughout the entire process. The GMB-Walton team is who we were working with. Donnie Walton had some not so enthusiastic phone calls from me and some hoops to jump through and he did it with professionalism and was so positive throughout this process. Never has this been a wonderful process in our life it can be stressful and so personal beings they have our most personal information and details. Please acknowledge them and their efforts.” Laura Johnson
