Meet Hector Hernandez, Project Superintendent
As early as 6:45 a.m. Hector Hernandez is fielding calls from construction crews to confirm locations and arrival times for the day’s developments around the Dallas-Fort Worth metro. It is a full day too because as Riverside Homebuilders’ Project Superintendent, Hector is in charge of it all, making sure each construction site is running smoothly and every new home is delivered in peak condition.
Once he’s on-site, Hector spends the day confirming materials, directing crews, double-checking changes or upgrades from homeowners, and scheduling the next crew to continue work.
“Having to think 10 steps ahead is crucial to the success of getting our homeowners closed on time,” Hector said. “Problem-solving and adjusting as needed has become a new normal with homebuilding.”
It has been especially challenging this year with the pandemic throwing a wrench in distribution, but that is what makes Hector and his five years of experience with Riverside Homebuilders even more valuable. Together, the team is setting a record pace for closings in the first quarter of 2021 already ranked 96th in the 2020 Builder100 list. The list, compiled by Builder Online, ranks the top builders in the country each year by the number of closings.
“We take a lot of pride in what we build and spend a lot of time working together as a team,” Hector said. “If you do not have a strong foundation in your home, it crumbles. The same is true for our team. Our managers create the foundation and support to allow us to all do our best jobs.”
Hector said the growth since he joined in April of 2016 has been his favorite part of the position. When he started at Riverside Homebuilders there were less than 10 employees. Now the team has 90.
“To be hired on in the beginning and be able to witness our growth makes me feel like I have been successful in creating happy homeowners and contributed to the company’s growth,” Hector said.
He built his family here too after meeting his wife in college and having three children who keep them busy. Hector spends all his free time with them, coaching his sons’ baseball teams, attending Cub Scout meetings, and supervising camping trips. He and his wife stay active with the schools too, volunteering with the PTA. He said they already have plans for their little girl to sign up for dance classes, adding to the happy chaos.
When you are ready to find your dream home in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Riverside Homebuilders can help you build it under Hector’s watchful eye. Call (817) 601-6230, text (254) 735-3033 or contact us online to schedule an appointment and explore available communities.
