Family-friendly Fun in DFW: The Cure for Spring Break Boredom
Kids look forward to school vacation. Parents often dread it. How do you keep them entertained without spending a fortune or cramping your own hectic schedule? Riverside Homebuilders has some advice. Here’s some affordable family-friendly fun in DFW, the cure for spring break boredom.
Spring Break at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art
March 12-15, 1-3 p.m., Camp Bowie Blvd., Fort Worth
Spend a few hours each day sparking the creativity and appreciation for art. The Museum has activities planned, including DIY art, gallery games, and sketching.
March 11-15, Flower Mound
Treat your young musician to a unique experience over spring break. Kids can join a rock band or glee club and even record a studio demo during B2R’s week-long camp.
Spring Break at Medieval Times
Dallas
Go back in time, centuries ago, when valiant knights battled, equestrians performed with their equine partners in a horse a ballet known as “dressage”, and the Royal Falconer harnessed the ferocity of this mighty raptor. Shows are discounted during spring break, and the experience is well worth the admission.
Spring Break Art Extravaganza at the Kimbell Art Museum
March 12-14, 10 am.-4 p.m., March 15, noon-4 p.m.
The museum is offering five days of free, kid-friendly spring break activities—all for free! Inspire, create, and just enjoy this artful time with your kids.
Arlington
Shake things up a bit this spring break by spending a day on the thrill rides at Six Flags. Batman fans will enjoy the themed rides, like Catwoman Whip, Harley Quinn Spinsanity, and The Riddler Revenge. There are plenty of rides for younger children, like Wile E. Coyote’s Grand Canyon Blaster.
STEM Camp at Sci-Tech Discovery Center
March 11-15, 9 am.-4 p.m.; North Dallas Parkway, Frisco
Every day offers a different theme for curious campers, from 1st grade through 8th. Tiny tinkerers, budding scientists, and tech wizards in the making will explore, experiment, and experience something new.
Spring Break Camp at The Actors Conservatory Theatre
March 11-17, Lake Park Road, Lewisville
Campers will spend 5 days getting ready to present a musical performance of “Sleeping Beauty” on Saturday and Sunday. Children from kindergarten to 8th grade are welcome to participate.
Local libraries are also sponsoring a variety of free activities throughout spring break, so check here to see what’s happening in your town.
Remember, it’s also okay to spend time at home together. Plan family game day or movie night. Bake something special together or find a household project that everyone can join in to complete—like purging the closets!
Spring is also the ideal time to take the family on a house hunt. Riverside Homebuilders has communities of new construction, single-family homes throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Many of our homes are eligible for 100% financing, too. Take a look at our designs and move-in ready homes. Then contact Rachel to show the kids a true adventure during spring break.

Hear From Our
Happy Homeowners
I would like to express my gratitude to Finnye Shipley and Jimmy Logan for their service during my homebuying experience. I am a first time homebuyer and they took great care of us. Their responsiveness and attention to detail is unmatched. They have continued to go above and beyond making us feel part of the community. They have been very helpful in some of the items needing attention after moving in. From the time that Jimmy showed us the house, I knew where we would be spending the next several years. I see Jimmy work late driving the neighborhood almost every day even there are only a handful of homes still for sale in the neighborhood.
I did not score a perfect scorecard on the survey, only because there were a few things that I am working on resolving with the home build. Sergio with the warranty department has been instrumental in fixing things that were needed.
Overall I am greatly satisfied with purchasing a Riverside home and look forward to working with you in the future. I hope this email will serve as a gold-star reflection of Finnye, Jimmy and Sergio. Their dedicated service should not go unnoticed.
