How it started

Amanda Houston started her journey with Riverside Homebuilders 15 years ago and has been a fantastic Sales Consultant for 7 years. Throughout her time with the company, she began to notice the unparalleled quality that was associated with everything Riverside Homebuilders does. “From the locations to the floor plan designs to the customer service, Riverside has something for everyone and puts their all into everything they do, and that’s rare to come across with new-construction home builders—that’s something that has always stood out to me.”

She quickly became interested in owning her own Riverside home, but thought that it was unattainable—but she ended up proving herself wrong. “Owning a home was for sure always a dream—especially a Riverside home after I witnessed the quality and value that this company upholds,” Amanda said. “After I realized I could actually make this dream happen, I started to be on the lookout for the perfect home.”

5 years ago now, Amanda came across the house that would become her forever home. “I stumbled upon a home that was about halfway through construction in Highland Hills in Decatur (which is now closed out), but my husband and I knew right away it was the perfect home for us,” Amanda said. “We were wanting a spacious yard, a right-sized, open layout and to stay in Wise County since my husband is a sheriff’s deputy here—and this home provided all of that and more. It was absolutely perfect, and still is!”

Although Amanda has been a part of the team for over a decade, she says that Riverside Homebuilders still treated her home and the buying process as they do every other customer that walks through the doors—like family. “Buying a new home can be so stressful, but everyone made me feel so at ease and it was super laid-back. We didn’t even have to worry about a design appointment, since everything that already came with the home was literally everything I would have picked out on my own. From start to finish, everything went so smoothly and it was everything I could’ve imagined.”

How it’s going

Now, as a proud Riverside homeowner, Amanda couldn't be happier with her decision to purchase a Riverside home. “We went with the Trinity plan—which is now reimagined as the Cibolo—and it’s phenomenal,” Amanda explained. “High ceilings, not too big, tons of natural lighting—it’s all perfect.” 

“My favorite feature of my home would definitely be the open kitchen. It’s a smaller plan, but because it’s so well laid out and they maximize the square footage, it feels so spacious and open. I love how, when I’m cooking, I can still see the living room and feel like a part of everything. We love to entertain, so it’s so nice when people are over and we can all be a part of something together. I also love my office—that’s my next favorite thing. I turned it into my yoga area, and it has beautiful curved windows with gorgeous natural lighting. I love that room.”

But it's not just the home that Amanda loves—it's the location, too. "We're in the country in a neighborhood that has that tight-knit feel and it’s super quiet, but I’m also only 10 minutes away from shopping and everything that I need," she explained. “We’re also on an acre, surrounded by beautiful evergreen trees—it’s so peaceful and serene, and we love it so much. We have a dachshund who absolutely takes advantage of the yard, and we’ve started doing things to make the most of our space, like extending the patio and starting a garden.”
