The Riverside Story: 100 Years Behind Us, So Much Ahead
Riverside Homebuilders began in 2012…technically. But the roots of this company started long before Tim Fleet officially launched this Dallas-Fort Worth homebuilding business. In fact, the Riverside story has 100 years behind us and so much ahead.
Tim Fleet graduated from Culver Military Academy in 1977 and then continued on to earn his BBA from the University of Texas in 1980. From there, he joined the family business, Sabine Valley Homes in 1981, which his grandfather, C.P. Hadley started in 1944. Tim's father, M.B. Fleet started in the business in 1952.
During his time at Sabine Valley Homes, Tim supervised the construction of more than 900 homes in the area. The entrepreneurial spirit that carried through generations sparked him to move on and start his own company in 1991. Lackland Holdings focused on commercial properties, successfully completing more than 120 developments and acquisitions.
Tim launched Riverside Homebuilders in 2012, with a leadership team from Lackland Holdings, and began building homes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Their vision was different from other builders in the area. Rather than join the crowd of production builders in traditional locations, Riverside Homebuilders sought out areas where they could build affordable homes in desirable locations with good school districts and access to the amenities the families would want and need. They wanted property that would allow them to give homebuyers bigger lots, preferably an acre or more. They looked farther than other builders, but also closer—inner city locations and those that the Riverside team felt confident were ready for rejuvenation, like Como and Morningside Park.
Clearly, our leaders put their faith in the right place. In 2017, Riverside Homebuilders closed on 286 new construction homes. In 2018, we expect that number to reach 320.
But, as anyone at Riverside Homebuilders will tell you, those numbers represent people. First-time homebuyers who dreamed of owning something exceptional. Families who could enjoy better schools and bigger yards. And empty-nesters who wanted a single-family home that better fit their needs.
Tim Fleet and his team have worked together for more than 12 years. Their combined homebuilding experience adds up to more than a century. Still, they keep looking for ways to do more.
“Our success stems from our culture,” explains Todd Greenfield, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We don’t chase profits. We focus on creating a positive culture while striving to build the best home building company possible.”
Tim has a succinct formula for Riverside Homebuilders’ success.
“We build quality homes and take care of our buyers.”
